This lens fails to meet one standard and that is auto focus!

Sometimes this lens misses your face when flogging and will stay that way for extended periods of times. Its very light compact and well build otherwise. even at 370 dollars I still cannot recommend. They need to work on the auto focus issue!

I like the lens, but firmware is v1.0 which has issues with my a6700. Costs more money to get a lens dock to upgrade it.

A really exceptional budget priced ultra wide angle lens. Rokinon lenses and Samyang lenses are the same. Samyang is both the manufacturer and the brand name used outside the US market. Great corner to corner sharpness stopped down on an APS-C Sony a6400. Quite good wide open. For those complaining about auto focus speed or focus hunting, you have to remember that the wider a lens is the greater its natural depth of field. So in a very wide angle lens the difference between one focal plane and the next gets thinner and thinner from the sensor perspective. So finding the focus point becomes harder and harder. Also, I think some of the complaints are from people trying to use this lens for video, not photography. In any case, for photography subjects the lens is superb. Put me down as a very satisfied buyer.

Photograph for fun, so I want the equipment for reasonable price. Got this for landscape and Astrophotography with Autofocus (and sealed). Struggle with focus (I’m in good company there) but that’s on me and not the lens. Quality lens that opens up a new world to fun experiences!

Impressed thus far. No major issues have been found yet. Sharp images from the center to the edge. Autofocus is reasonably good. Much smaller lens than the Sony branded e-mount lens. Great little lens at a good price. I will be watching this company in the future. I expect good things to come. Recommended

Tack sharp images in illuminated scenes with little to no vignetting or distortion. Low light image sharpness depends on lens aperture, and a sturdy tripod. Backplane pixel count, shutter speed, and iso affect whether the lens is used to its limits. Sharper low-light images can be obtained by meticulous focusing and reducing the aperture from full open. Well built, autofocus is fast (depending on camera features) and must be used with a modern digital camera body as only focus may be manually adjusted - no manual aperture adjustment is available. Alignment dot for mounting to camera body is white and placed on the outer lens body where it’s easy to find in low light. Currently using this lens with a Sony ZV E10 II. Can be used for night time-lapse imaging and can be focused down to 0.22 meter. There is some lens flare when direct illumination source is in field of view. A lens shroud and cap are included. Will buy from this manufacturer again. 👍

Fallo en lo que mas importaba

Todo parecia estar perfecto, calidad buena para el precio, tanto en construccion como calidad de imagen, pero fallo en lo que mas importabaEl autoenfoque funciona, y enfoca lo que debe, pero tiene un problema fatal, en video el motor no deja de trabajar, como si tratara de enfocar algo mas cuando ya consiguió el mejor enfoque posible en el objeto principal. Esto ocasiona ruidos que son captados por el micro de la camara y no solo eso, lo mas molesto es que en los bordes del video se ve un leve movimiento, como si alguien hiciera zoom in y zoom out muy rapido, lo cual es demasiado molesto. Consegui arreglar esto enfocando manualmente el lente, pero ese es exactamente el problemaLa idea estaba perfecta, y yo estaba muy emocionado por este lente, pero falló en lo unico que lo diferenciaba de su hermano menor, el 12mm manual, porque si para resolver esto debo usarlo de forma manual, para que comprar la version af?Puede ser que la mia sea una unidad defectuosa, pero he visto otras personas con el mismo problema, pero tambien he visto muchos que no han tenido este problema. Lamentablemente a mi ya se me paso la fecha de devolucion y creo que Rokinon no aplica garantias en Mexico.Si vas a comprar un lente ultra wide y te importa el autoenfoque, te pido que veas a otras marcas, este lente simplemente es una apuesta a que te toque un error como el mio o no, o simplemente sacrifica un poco de distancia focal y ve con el 16mm de Sigma, cosa que debi hacer yo desde el inicio
