This DEFINEY kids watch is a great first watch for kids learning to tell time.The case of the watch is fairly large for little kids wrists (probably 36-38mm), but it allows the designers to pack in more details and information for kids learning to tell time. The face of the watch has a subtle rainbow of colors, with a different hue in the range between two numbers, helping kids see what the hour is. The outer edge of the face has every minute tick numbered. The hands are also labeled as "HOUR" and "MINUTE." Everything has nice, useful contrast and makes it easy for kids to feel confident they are reading the watch correctly.The watch is battery operated with an internal quartz mechanism. It's rated as water resistant to 50m, so you can wash hands with it and get it wet without worried, but I wouldn't recommend trying to swim with it. The watch has a single crown on the side with typical operation - you pull the crown out and turn it to adjust the hour and minute hands to set the time, then push the crown back in.The strap is a soft rubber material with standard buckle and two loops to secure the excess strap for little wrists. Once kids get used to it, they can put it on and take it off on their own.Overall, I think this is a really nice first watch for kids. I think it's ideal for 1st - 3rd graders and you can pick out a color that works best for your kid.
