Ever need to run, say, 10G ethernet over a kilometer of cable and then convert it back into copper again? Believe it or not, if you have a server room, this is an occurrence! Slow coax cables are a thing of the 80’s, and this little tiny box pushes media in a massive way, with quick light.On a more personal note, like for my house or a small office, I have found enjoyment playing with fiber optics in my home. Do I need that kind of power? Maybe not. Or maybe it is the future to make my home as fast as possible! It is, however, fun to move data that fast. This is not for home use really. It’s set up for pro. What I do know is that this converter is smart, fast and worthy.

Amazing customer support! I had an atypical use case which led some issues but customer support responded super fast and made it right. the interaction was genuine.My use case was a link speed conversion rather than the fiber/copper conversion. I had a multi-gig (5G-Base-T on UTP side and 10G-Base-T OPNSense on the other side) Even tho the connection was established, it was still 10G-Base-T on both sides which led to collision errors for the upload (TX) packets. Download (RX) was fine.I highly recommend their business based on my experience with the customer support.

最終更新日:2024/06/22１．検品パッケージ開封後の内容物は以下の通りでした。〇内容物①（メディアコンバーター）本体②ACアダプター③本体固定具等④LANケーブル⑤クリーナー等⑥説明書以下、特記事項のある項目について記載します。①（メディアコンバーター）本体本体は金属製でSFP+x1、LANx1です。但し、端子部のカバーはありませんでした。②ACアダプター入力は100～240Vで出力は5V/2A、PSEマークも菱形がありました。③本体固定具等ゴム足（x4）とL字金具（x2）、面テープ（x1）がありました。但し、L字金具用のネジは本体両側面にあるカバー止めを兼ねたネジを使用する模様です。④LANケーブルCat7（STP）ケーブルが1本同梱されており、長さ1m、太さ約6㎜でケーブルは固めでした。⑤クリーナー等クリーナーと何故か鉛筆がありました。⑥説明書説明書は日本語で作成されていました。２．感想等２－１）使用について自宅環境で試してみましたが、現状では特に問題なく使用出来ました。（当方の環境の制限でファイバー10G～STP2.5Gですが・・）又、LAN側のみですが、オートセンスで10G以下の環境でも接続できるのは良いと思いました。（当方の場合、検証環境に応じて1G等も使う事もあるので）２－２）その他感想等（不満点）不満点は1点で、端子用カバーが無かった点。説明書にも"使用しない時はカバーをして下さい"とあるのですが、そのカバーが無いのが残念でした。（当方の場合、検証環境で使用しており、良く環境変更をするので外す場合もある為）３．評価10Gファイバーを有線LANへの変換を手軽に出来るのは便利と思いました。しかしながら、不満点（先のキャップが無い点）から☆4としています。後はこのまま使用しての耐久度や、現状ではLAN側が2.5G環境での使用なので、LAN側も10G環境で使用できた際には追記出来ればと思います。（但し、時期は未定です）以上〇更新履歴2024/06/22　初版

This unit is fairly inexpensive for a 10Gb Media converter. It works perfectly out of the box. My only complain is that it runs extremely hot since it has no active cooling. If I were to leave my finger on the SFP module it would have left a minor burn. I had to setup a small desk fan to blow air across/through it's ventilation holes. Once it has some active cooling it runs very cool.

If you want to run Fiber To The Desktop, this is a key part of that equation. You'll need an SFP module for your provider / setup, of course. But if you want super speed to the desktop, this is where you want to be. Good for servers, too, of course. But bah. FTTD is the WTG. Your PC be smokin on this.
