I put in all the flavour sachets but only half of the spicy sauce and it was already super spicy. There is a very strong Mala spicy flavour, really tingly in my mouth. I think it came from the powder packet, so I would advise to not put all the flavourings in before tasting it.Overall I think this is more like a snack, since the amount of food included is so little unless you pad it up by adding some veggies and toppings.

A couple of things I should mention first. 1) I’m a flexitarian that is very picky about meat texture, so I don’t eat weird animal parts 2) I’ve been eating a lot of different konjac noodles the last few months so I’m familiar with the taste and texture.That being said, I was hesitant to try this at first because these particular konjac noodles do in fact look kinda gross. However, once I actually prepared them I found them to be delicious. They are thicker than the konjac noodles I’m used to, and darker, but they were absolutely delicious with the sauce and oil packets. Between a 1-10 on the heat scale, I would say the spicy for these is at a level 6. The arrived well packaged with no spillage and the expiration date was well into the future.

Description was a bit confusing as I originally though the pack included 2 x 505g bags of noodles, but the actual account is 2 x 252g packets, so only 504g total.The noodles are brownish in colour and made to look like tripe. It is bagged in a liquid that needs to be poured out and rinsed before used.It comes with a seasoning packet, a spiced oil, some sesame oil and a foldable fork. The container that it comes in can be used as your bowl for an easy cup of noodles while you’re on the go.The seasoning powder is a bit salty with a flavour similar to chicken from other ramen noodles. The spiced oil is exactly that, spicy. It didn’t have a bad flavour, just spicy. The sesame oil tasted like sesame oil, so nothing special there.Followed the instructions, emptied the water in the bag and poured hot water onto the noodles, poured out and repeat. Added the packet of powder, a few drops of the spiced oil and the packet of sesame oil. Poured boiling hot water into the cup enough to cover the noodles and mixed things up.The noodles had a chewy crunch to them. The texture is a bit like jellyfish (if you’ve ever had that before), chewy with a bit of bite to it. If you’ve never had jellyfish, then squid/calamari would be the next closest thing.The noodles by themselves don’t have any/much flavour, but with the powder and oils added, with my face in the cup on my first bites, I got a mild curry scent that went away and all I tasted was the saltiness of the powder and the oils. Taste wise, was ok.202g is a decent amount for a light meal/snack. If you decide to use the noodles and seasoning, you could add your own ingredients and make a heartier meal.Overall, the noodles were ok. It didn’t have any flavour of its own, but did soak up the flavours of the seasoning powder and oils. It has a decent texture with some bite to it. At the time of this review, the noodles were priced at $21.99 with an available 15% off coupon. Although it is more expensive than my normal ramen I buy, but this is low carb & low calorie, so a bit healthier.

I was really excited to try this spicy noodle kit, and for the most part, it absolutely delivered! The seasoning and the sauce are both phenomenal. They provide a deep, savory, and satisfying heat that I would genuinely rate five stars. It is the kind of flavor that makes your lips tingle without completely overwhelming your taste buds, which is perfect for a weeknight treat. I found myself drinking the leftover broth after I finished the noodles, I mean...there was barely any left anyway, let's be honest.However, the one thing holding me back from a perfect score is the texture of the noodles themselves. Even after following the instructions perfectly, they remained with that typical konjac noodle texture that you may or may not be familiar with. It does not ruin the meal because the overall taste experience is pleasant, but it keeps this from being an absolute favorite. If they could improve the noodle texture slightly, this would be a clear, five-star winner. Definitely worth buying for the amazing flavor alone, or as a vegan option for those missing their ramen.
