Tested and works great with cube ice. You can get different results when you press the handle in, (applying pressure to the ice to blades) depending on how you want the texture of the shaved ice. For me, no need to adjust the 3 blades.

I read many reviews. I chose this product due to value vs number of blades vs power and apparent build strength.My comments toward all the complaints I read about:Dangerous: Why are you using the safety switch to control the machine? Use the main switch.Throws Ice: This machine does not throw ice. But, I do not open the door while it is on. I use the switch.Leaks Water: Yes it does. Ice gets inside the machine and it leaks as it melts. I use it on a towel and I keep the towel there until all the ice has melted, then I tip the machine as I lift it and the rest of the water comes out immediately.Hard to clean: Why are you using dirty ice? Don't put your hands in it. The blades are sharp.Output port is low: Yes it is. I don't have a problem with it.Output port clogs: Spin the bowel quicker and don't push the ice through the machine so fast.Snow has small pieces of ice in it: Adjust the blades as low as possible (it is the first thing I did). AND use big ice to get perfect snow. I purchased large silicone muffin molds which work perfectly. Normal sized ice cubes on the input will output shaved ice with small pieces of ice mixed in with the snow.Great machine -- But not for children or the faint of heart. It is a beast.

This machine works well for what you pay for it. My only complaints would be that you can only adjust the blades a little bit. You can’t really get them to a spot where you get fine shaved ice. If you don’t mind a little crunch in your snow cone then this will work just fine. I was able to use some small washers and shim the blades to a better position to where I get a finer shaved ice but that’s not in everybody’s wheel house. Secondly you can’t fit a cup under it to shoot the ice directly in a cup. You have to use the bowl and then transfer to a cup. Minor details I guess. Overall though it does a fairly good job at a great price point.
