In short, I highly recommend this product. Want to know more? Read my “book” :) below. (I hope it helps.)I had too many years of sleepless nights before I got my cooling mat. I have erythromelalgia, so sleeping is a nightmare. I buy mattresses that "claim" to be cool, pillows that "claim" to be cool. My BedJet works beautifully to cool me down, but it can't cool the mattress. That's where this beauty comes in! Now I can cool myself on all sides!I chose the Adamson cooling mat over its competitors because they are the only ones who wisely make their mat from breathable cotton as opposed to PVC plastic, meaning that when it's not running it's not adding heat to my bed. I've been using the unit for a whole year, even in the winter. I cannot sleep without it!Now, here are some particulars and details that might help you with your decision in buying this unit:COTTON MAT: The mat doesn't get overheated like other similar mats because of the cotton fabric. Because the mat is not machine washable, I don't lie directly on it. It goes under my sheet to protect it. My setup looks like this: mattress, mattress pad, cooling mat (attached with elastic sheet bands – more on that next), strategically placed small blankets (more on that in a minute), fitted sheet, then me. It works a charm!ELASTIC BANDS: There are elastic bands that run lengthwise to secure the mat to the mattress. This is the weakest part of the design, in my humble opinion. They are neither sturdy enough nor in enough quantity to prevent movement of the mat without breaking. It was clear after just a few nights of use that my mat wasn't going to stay in place without some help. I started with using some adjustable bed sheet fasteners, which I ran under my mattress and connected to either side of the mat to keep it from bunching up. After a few month's use, the elastic bands that came on the mat had detached and stretched out so much that they were useless. I applied more bed sheet fasteners to the corners of my bed to hold it on. This does the trick! The mat stays put no matter how much I toss and turn.PVC TUBES: Inside the cotton sheath are soft PVC tubes that circulate water at your choice of four different speeds: the faster the speed, the colder the water. I have a very sensitive back; sometimes I feel like the Princess and the Pea! The tiniest wrinkle or bump can disturb my sleep. When I first pulled the mat out of the box, I was convinced that these tubes were going to be uncomfortable to lie on. But I was wrong! They're barely noticeable...and when the water starts flowing through them, it just feels good.CONNECTION: A tube leads out of the top side of the mat and connects to the base unit, which must sit at a height higher than the bed for it to function. I find that this tube can be a bit cumbersome, especially if you have other items on your nightstand that it might knock over. Because it's a soft tube, it's easy to position around the furniture and secure it away from loose items on top of the nightstand. Unfortunately, the tube connects on only one side of the base unit. For me, that side is the wrong side, meaning that the base unit has to face the wall or away from me. I just learn to live with it, but if the company changed this, I would buy a new unit in a hurry because if the unit is facing away, then the water level is impossible to see, at least in my bedroom setup.BASE UNIT: The base unit holds about ¾ of a gallon of water. I learned quickly not to fill it more than ½ a gallon, however, as overflow would occur. At first I used to fill the unit until it began overflowing, but with my hard water this was causing a calcium nightmare on the outside of the unit. So I filled it with a ½ gallon and marked with a Sharpie where that waterline fell. Now I don't fill beyond that point. If I want it to run for 8-10 hours, it needs that ½ gallon, especially if the relative humidity is lower than 40% and sucking some of that water into the air. It generally doesn't use all of that water, but I fill it every night up to that mark as a precaution. Because of the potential for overflow or spillage, it is recommended that the unit be placed in a tray or basin. FOLLOW THIS RECOMMENDATION if you don't want water on your floor or furniture as mistakes will happen. As far as cleaning the unit, I simply unplug it, detach it from the mat, and take it to my bathtub where I use some vinegar to scrub the calcium off of all visible parts. Easy peasy. With my super hard water, I only need to do this a couple of times a year. The unit plugs into the wall with a standard plug with a cord that has a generous length. I plug mine into an extension cord and it works safely for me.REMOTE CONTROL: The unit can be controlled using buttons on top of the unit or by remote control. I usually set the unit using it's buttons on top before lying down and then use the remote control as needed in the night. Because the remote receiver is on top of the unit and the unit is higher than the bed, it can be cumbersome lifting the remote control high enough and pointing it in just the right way to change the function. Also, because there is no readout on the controller itself, you have to work from memory and hope that it's receiving your commands each time you press the button. This isn't a deal-breaker for me, but it is another feature that could be improved in future models. There are four speeds for water flow. The faster the speed, the cooler the mat will feel. I usually sleep with it at the slowest setting, even in winter, because that speed is almost even too cold for me! Not all of my body needs the same cooling relief, so I place a large towel or insulating blanket on top of the mat in key areas to prevent feeling too cold.ADDRESSING OTHER REVIEWS:People say they feel the tubes – I do not find them at all uncomfortable and are barely noticeable.People say that the noise of the base unit is too loud – I barely notice it; sometimes I'm not even sure it's on unless I look at the unit.People say that the mat feels wet – I think this is just the perception of feeling moving water on the body. I think it feels cool, not wet.People say that it's hard to clean – I've had it a year, I use it nightly, I have hard water, I've overflowed it multiple times, and I've only had to clean it twice. Cleaning is a breeze: a cup of vinegar with a soft brush, brushing it over all the calcified bits, then rinsing with water and it's done in just a few minutes.People are conflicted on filling frequency – I think this depends on the relative humidity of your room. I got in the habit of keeping it at a certain level and then filling it nightly to that level to ensure that there was no interruption to my sleep.A final note on CUSTOMER SERVICE: I reached out to customer service when I got the unit because I had some questions not addressed in the manual. Customer service was awesome! So pleasant, knowledgeable, kind, professional, and quick to respond.I hope this helped you to make an informed decision on this unit.

After living in ND for many years, my body got used to cold weather to the point where I would wear half sleeve shirts in 40-50 degrees weather, fate brought me to TX approx 20 yrs ago and that's where I have been residing ever since. To combat with the outside heat, besides the central cooling that keeps our home at 72 degrees, I have a mini split and a vortex fan in our bedroom to keep the temperature in mid 60s at night. While my wife was using double blanket setup including an electric/heated blanket throughout the year, I would still be sweating at times. Would I be considered as a hot sleeper? ;-)Over the years, I looked into different options (mini split, vortex fan, etc) to make my beauty sleep more comfortable. I couldn’t justify purchasing the “Eight Sleep” system (almost $2,500 plus monthly subscription) with a one year warranty, so I purchased the next best thing - Bedjet system (about $800 with proprietary sheet and taxes) from Amazon. However, it was a nightmare trying to use that system with our adjustable bed (inside a bed frame and a footboard). Needless to say it was returned within a week. Next, I stumbled upon the Adamson B10 Bed Cooling System. After going thru both the good and the bad reviews, I reluctantly placed an order with minimal expectations (in summer 2023) for something that cost less than 1/15th of the Eight Sleep system and much better warranty.Upon receiving, the setup took about 10 minutes; removing the bedsheet of the mattress, placing the cooling pad over the mattress, putting the bedsheet back on, connecting tube and AC adapter to the cooling unit, filling it with water up to the line, and reading about 2 settings (F 1-4 for fan speed, D 1-4 for duration). At night, within 5 minutes of laying down, it got so cold under the blanket that I needed to lower both settings. Now, I am good with F3/D3, while mini split is set at 70 degrees, and my wife uses one regular blanket. One system, two happy individuals. :-)Pros:1. A wonderful unit that works with my adjustable bed in both inclined and flat position.2. Amazing 5 years warranty.3. Excellent customer service.4. The fan noise is perfect white noise.5. Overall performance of B10 system gives the competition a serious run for its money.Cons:1. The remote controller needs improvement, since it is easier and quicker to change the settings manually by reaching over the unit (instead of pointing the remote from a perfect angle and hoping it would work). Also, there is no backlight and no screen (to show the current settings on the remote) that makes it practically useless in the dark. For the last 6 months, my remote has been sitting in my drawer. Anyone needs a replacement remote? :-)2. Need to add water daily.3. Requires monthly maintenance (flushing out water) that takes roughly 30 min.4. This “evaporation system” works great when the room is already cold. If it is 80 degrees in the room, don’t expect an AC under the blanket. After 6 months of using the cooling bed, I had an issue with the system. I contacted the customer service thru email/messaging (on Amazon site). The representatives responded within 24 hours and resolved the issue within a week. I am sure company would take care of me if anything happens to this unit within 5 yrs, and I would gladly replace it with the same unit thereafter.

It worked but not as good as you expected
2025-12-26    -Clive Ong

Have been using it for the last 2 weeks under a topper and all i can say, its not well built.Refilling the tank could lead to leakage (not even due to over pouring) but the stopper beneath is just not enough to stop leaking. i've tried multiple way to refill the water tank and even tried replacing the stopper but non of it worked. Now i've a towel permanently beneath it and require to change the towel every use.Cooling function does work, just that water refilling (2.5L) requires to be done everyday for a 8 hour use, which is troublesome.Definitely expected a better equipment for the price paid.

Questionable for the price
2026-02-14    -martin bowin

The buildquiality of the pump housing is questionable, I dont think it will last very long. It is very cheap made. It should cost minimum 35% less to buy this product to be honest. Its a pump and a fan, thats probably €5 in china and the circuitboard wont cost much more, maybe €10 and the housing €5The fan makes a terrible sound, not possible to have it on and be able to sleep and the water hoses are like 100cm long so you must have it just by your side and right in your ear as it must be in the same height or higher.I use pump only, it also makes a loud noise but with earplugs I can manage it. The fan, impossible. However the product helps, I sleep much cooler with it on, even without the fan as the the water helps spread the warmth on the full matress.

Works great with the AC

Before I got this Adamson bed cooling system, I set my AC at 18°C and would wake up during the night because my back would be hot. This cooling system now balances the cooling on my body as it cools my back. When you set it up for the first time, you have to slowly fill it with about 2.5L of clean water. It consumes water whenever it's turned on, so after about 8-9 hours of sleep with it turned on, about 1 litre of water will have evaporated. I fill it until below the Max line on the device on a daily basis.
