I have several Kwikset smart locks and love that I can re-key them using the smartkey tool. This is the first one that has network connectivity. I had to upgrade to the Echo Show 8 (3rd gen) to get the ZigBee hub capability (Echo Plus and Echo 4th Gen also have the ZibBee hub). To connect the lock, I used the Alexa app and had to choose Lock and "Other" (only preprogrammed to Kwikset Halo). When choosing "Other", it asked for type of connection (ZigBee, Z-wave Etc). I chose ZigBee 3.0 and it connected immediately. The ONLY think I don't like it that this lock mechanism is louder than the one being replaced (Kwikset 909 SmartCode)

Not a good product. Had a hard time connecting it to smart things hub. Still can't get it to work. Bought another brand and had zero problems.

This is a nice lock. I have a contractor to install it for me, it works fine. The only thing is the QR code cannot be found via wifi. So I cannot use my phone to set up password. But I can still manually set up password on the lock.

First of all, in general I HATE that Amazon lumps together reviews and Q&A's of different model devices together. It makes it VERY CONFUSING. Kwikset has many different models of smart locks. Some use zigbee, some use z-wave, some use bluetooth or wifi. I am reviewing the Kwikset Home Connect 914 Keypad Electronic Smart Lock with the Polished Brass Finish.The lock itself looks great and was easy to install in my door which already had a standard deadbolt. Programming unlock codes using the they keypad and programming buttons on the lock worked just fine.My frustration began with trying to get it to work with the Tuya Zigbee 3.0 gateway (hub). I was able to put the lock in pairing mode and get it to connect with the Tuya hub. The "Smart Life" app that works with the hub was completely useless when trying to actually program user codes and actually lock and unlock the door. It simply doesn't work and I was actually getting prompted in Chinese. I went online to the Tuya support and they told me that Tuya hubs only work with Tuya devices. The product information on Amazon clearly says it is compatible with Tuya. I guess the product information is wrong. I want to get this device to work with Alexa.My question is exactly which zigbee hubs are 100% compatible with with this device? The kwikset website is pretty useless and just says compatible with Amazon Alexa and Samsung Smartthings. That's wrong too because not all Alexa devices have zigbee support. I currently have 2nd Gen Echo dots which are not zigbee compliant. I'll up my rating once the product info is fixed with a list of hubs that this lock actually really works with.
