PIece of crap (hardware AND software). I've bought three of these due to the lack of options on the market. The first two just stopped working for various reason after about a year and now the third one, on top of not working any longer (we do regular maintenance and replacement of the roller and seperation pad), this piece of garbage is insisting we provide our "license number" as if I kept the paperwork around all this time. Save yourself the time and money and just get something else. Or, if you do order this, at least get the replacement plan so you can get a second one when it dies at the year mark.

This works great! The software scans and accurately reads most cards. I used this to organize the chaos after tradeshows.

We have purchased two and they both work well. occasionally it will have trouble threading through - unable to determine the reason, but overall its a good scanner and we have used ours for 3 years. I will say customer service for this company is awesome. When our first scanner broke they helped it fix it with minimal out of pocket expense.

Easy install. Downloaded and installed latest software and driver first before connecting scanner. Software can be minimized and set for auto-scan and the folder to save to, so as soon as an ID card is placed in the top of the scanner, it will scan in just a few seconds and pop up a scanned image with the option to tag it and then save it in the defined folder. This scanner takes up very little desk space, which is a premium in the health care office it was installed at. I highly recommend the 690GT scanner for quick ID card scanning.

Ambir nScan 690gt reader with AmberScan software:Unpredictable results are the norm with this device and software. Windows 11 is certainly a big cause of the connectivity issues with the hardware, but bad development of the AmbirScan software is the real culprit. The current user guide for the software was last updated in 2019. There are big gaps in the document that left me totally clueless when trying to tie the functionality I saw on the screen to the ancient guide. Oh, I need to mention that it is my experience that there is zero support-knowledge of the advertised enhancement of using Microsoft Outlook as an easy and reliable card to contact tool. Getting a tech to answer questions about that can-of-worms is impossible and there is very little content in the documentation. Having experienced the touchy software and the lack of any guidance from Ambir's Tech Support, I feel that this purchase was a bad investment. Pass!
