I have several Texas Instruments based TPA3xxx amps. Most of these high resolution amps have Bluetooth 5.0 chips built in. There is a noticeable difference between between the sound quality when my LG V60 phone is connected via Bluetooth vs its headphone port (The V60 is know for its excellent built in DACs). The lossy Bluetooth 5.0 codecs just aren't as clear when using a pair of very good speakers. This Bluetooth 5.3 receiver is a definite improvement in sound quality over my amps with Bluetooth 5.0 connections. I am pretty sure it is the lossless LDAC support that improves the sound quality.The top dial controls are:Twist left to go back one songTwist right to skip to the next songPress the dial to pause / resume play.I appreciate the large dial and easy logical function. 90% of the time I don't use the controls on this Bluetooth receiver at all and just use my phone for these functions. There is no volume control on this receiver.The DAC for the analogue (audio) out port is of sufficient quality that I can't tell a difference between the music through the analogue out port on this receiver and the analogue out from my LG V60 phone... when using good (but not excellent) speakers.For the price I would definitely recommend this Bluetooth receiver even if your phone does not support 5.3. Some day you will have a Bluetooth 5.3 phone and you will be all set to take advantage of it with this receiver.

its ok, services its purpose. just wish it had a on and off switch to cut it off. have to unplug it.

This works perfectly with our home sound system that's probably 20ish years old. It was a pain to set up though thus the 4 stars. It would connect to my husband's phone but refused to play sound through the radio so I switched to a different power outlet and it worked! It refused to connect to my phone until after I set my teens phone up on it. It's finally working and I really like it. It's for sure got some quirks and I'm a little afraid to switch up the annoyingly tacky look I have going on with an extension cable to keep this plugged in but I'll just drown out my announce with music! Once it's set up and working it's worth it!
